THE POWER OF MERCY

In the journey of life,  accidents do happen. What then is accident?  Dictionary defines it as an unfortunate incident that happens unexpectedly and unintentionally, typically resulting in damage or injury. Waoh, isn't that scary? But that's life. It is full of ups and downs,  thorns and roses.  One could wake up as dad's favorite and sleep as a slave (Joseph's experience) and the aim of satan is to cause damage or injury to our fellowship with Christ and our essence of existence (purpose).  Long before satan puts thoughts together to cause any damage,  Christ died for the world,  an investment that eternity cannot recover from.  Bible says in Micah 7: 18-20: Where is the god who can compare with you— wiping the slate clean of guilt, Turning a blind eye, a deaf ear, to the past sins of your purged and precious people? You don’t nurse your anger and don’t stay angry long, for mercy is your specialty. That’s what you love most. And compassion is on its way to us. You’ll stamp out our wrongdoing. You’ll sink our sins to the bottom of the ocean. You’ll stay true to your word to Father Jacob and continue the compassion you showed Grandfather Abraham— Everything you promised our ancestors from a long time ago.

Satan the guilt master sells lies to us and shows us scars to live with forever when we go wrong but the mercy of God through Jesus Christ presents truth , stars and successes we can make out of the situation if we believe in the power of mercy.

What is mercy: it can be described as the love of God that responds to human need in an unexpected or unmerited way.  It is the absolute forgiving and forgetful disposition of God towards repentant children of His. " For thou, Lord, art good and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee.. Psalm 86:5".

He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit,"Titus 3:5 NIV. If we ever deserve it,  it is not God's  mercy , it is free and ours for grab.

The fear about mercy usually bothers on the possibility of abusing the privilege and living perpetually in sin because of the provision of mercy but, the truth is, if you love God,  you don't want to hurt him willingly. " No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him..1 John 3:6 NIV

Oh sure mercy of God! It is so amazing it can be misunderstood and even be doubted because to the human mind,  it is almost impossible. The prodigal elder brother was a perfect picture that comes to mind here.  How could the father be so warm and happy and generous towards a waster. Surprisingly,  the wasteful son himself didn't approach the father with boldness.  He returned home based on maybe or maybe not syndrome but,  the good thing is that he returned home, Luke 15: 11-32.

He is not going to chase you away: John 6:37 ... whoever comes to me,  I will never reject... His arms are always open to receive you.  Mercy is an all time and wholesome healer and restorer.  The father loves you more than your imagination. RUN TO MERCY NOW,  THE FATHER CARES.
